1. Who we are

MilJaye (“we”, “us”) operates the dating and matchmaking website and app at miljaye.net for users aged 18 and above in India. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data in line with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and applicable Indian law.

2. Data we collect

• Account: email, mobile number, password (hashed), language preference.
• Profile: name, date of birth, gender, photos, bio, location (city/GPS coordinates for discover), preferences, interests.
• Verification: selfie photos for identity verification.
• Usage: likes, skips, matches, messages (encrypted), payment references (UTR for manual UPI).
• Technical: device/browser data, IP address, push notification tokens, logs for security.

3. How we use data

• To create and manage your account and show you relevant profiles.
• To verify identity and reduce fake profiles.
• To enable chat, notifications, and paid features (chat subscription, profile boost).
• To respond to support messages and enforce community guidelines.
• To comply with law and cooperate with authorities when required.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with: (a) other users as part of normal app use (profile visible to matches/discover); (b) service providers (hosting, email, push notifications) under contract; (c) law enforcement when legally required; (d) payment processors or manual verification of UPI payments you submit.

5. Retention & security

We keep data while your account is active and for a reasonable period after deletion for legal and safety purposes. Messages are stored encrypted. You may deactivate or delete your account from Profile settings. We use industry-standard measures but no system is 100% secure.

6. Your rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us. You may withdraw consent for optional processing (e.g. push notifications) in app settings. Grievances: email miljaye@miljaye.net — we aim to respond within 15 working days.

7. Children

MilJaye is strictly 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. Report underage users immediately via Contact or cybercrime.gov.in.
